Marcia is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in oncology and diagnostic industry. She brings both practical and strategic experience in drug discovery, biomarker development, and clinical diagnostics. She currently is the founder and CEO of Bioarray Genetics Inc. Prior to Bioarray, Marcia held a Principal Scientist position at GlaxoSmithKline, Oncology Center of Excellence for Drug Discovery. Marcia’s work as a postdoctoral fellow at UC Berkeley and doctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute led to seminal peer-reviewed publications on oncology biomarker discovery. Marcia is trained in genetics with a Bachelor’s Degree from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
She serves as judge and advisor to entrepreneurial companies through the MassChallenge Business Accelerator, is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, and Coalition for the 21st Century Medicine. Marcia has been an honoree twice for the Women of Innovation – Entrepreneurial Innovation and Leadership by the Connecticut Technology Council.
